CHOCOLATE

Chocolate ice cream cones are Tanner's FAVORITE treat.
He always wants ice cream and chocolate is his preference. If he can, he chooses sprinkles on it too.
However Kambrie loves ice cream just as much. She'll take vanilla or chocolate. I usually try to give her vanilla so it doesn't make such a messy mess like this!

Another favorite treat of Tanner's are these pop tarts, specifically Smores!  He'll come home from school and eat a pkg for his afternoon snack.

We ALL love to lick the beaters...Kambrie just happened to get this batch because she was already in the bathtub and it made it easy to clean her up after.  I LOVE batter and dough from anything...my kids seem to follow suit.

cherish the moment

"You have nothing in this world more precious than your children. When you grow old, when your hair turns white and your body grows weary, when you are prone to sit in a rocker and meditate on the things of your life, nothing will be so important as the question of how your children have turned out ... Do not trade your birthright as a mother for some bauble of passing value ... The baby you hold in your arms will grow as quickly as the sunrise and the sunset of the rushing days."

~ Gordon B. Hinckley ~

Boy is this ever true.
I have come to find out, my existence passes too quickly with each blink of my eye.  As hard as this time of life is, I cherish it so much.  I long for the days back when Tanner was a little baby and would snuggle in my chest and I'd smell the scent of his newborn breath on my cheek.  I miss those days but I long for the future and what is holds as well.  I've had repeated cherished moments with Kambrie coming along as our new baby, and as my children grow day by day I love the changes and stages that each one presents.  It's so fun to watch them grow and explore in this world as I'm right there with them, step by step.  I feel so blessed that I get to stay home with them and raise them, teach them, and help them gain a solid foundation to excel in their life.
I have so many hopes and dreams for them. I pray they will always feel and understand the love Landon and I have for them and the power they have within themselves to accomplish their goals, set dreams and have confidence in themselves to succeed.  Being a mother is an honor and I feel a sacred responsibility as my loving Heavenly Father has bestowed this gift upon me.

Mexico catch up

I'm in Mexico right now. I have lots of time for rest and relaxation. I'm hoping I can catch up a little on my blog. I love that this is my journal and scrapbook, so I want to keep documenting our lives since I'm pathetic at my personal journal writing and my own hands-on scrapbooking...

special moments

Tonight I tucked Tanner into bed and came up to my room.  A few short minutes later he came walking into my room, softly crying, with tears streaming down his face.  What in the world is wrong buddy!?  I questioned and asked him what happened.

He starts to tell me how he is so sad that dad's Gpa is dead.  He says that he was just thinking about him and started to miss him and it made him sad.

Oh so sweet!!  My precious boy has the most tender heart.

He continued to say that he got sad thinking about his great Gpa and missed him, and then he proceeded to climb out of bed and kneel at his bedside and say a prayer for Gpa in heaven and hoped he was having a good day and was happy!!

He went on saying he is so sad and missing him because he only got to meet him once.

Luckily we had the chance to see Gpa Kirk this past Fall when we were in Utah for Thanksgiving. It was the first time Tanner got to meet his great Gpa, and just a few short months later he died.
I'm so glad it was a lasting impression for Tanner.  I don't think he's really known anyone else before that was close to him and has died...(only briefly knew his other great grandparents as well, that have died).

He reminisced about spending time in his little apt and how Gpa gave him some of his poppycock popcorn!

I hope these memories live in his heart forever.  What precious moments to spend with family members.  I'm SO glad Tanner had the chance to meet him in this lifetime.

Let me count the ways...

...I love you.

1. I love you because you find a travel toothbrush holder and turn it into a pirate telescope...because you are innocent and don't know any better!!

2.  I love you because you take floss and stick it in between your teeth like you know what you're doing!  But in all reality, you have no idea what this means and you only do it because you see mommy and daddy do it and have no clue that you're not accomplishing one darn thing with your "technique."

3.  I love you because we drew a mustache on Tanner once, and now you think you can draw marker on your face...but you have no clue that blue scribbles on your face look ridiculous!!

4.  I love you because as wild as you can be, and as much as you love pirates now, you also have a soft girly side.  You LOVE your babies and call them "honey," give them baths, change their diapers, feed them bottles, walk them in your stroller, comb their hair...you are such a good mommy and I love watching you play with your dolls and "arbies" (barbie).

5.  I love you because what is their not to love about this stinkin adorable face!!!  I love your bright blue eyes, your sweet button nose, your soft pink lips, your crooked front teeth, your yummy squishy cheeks, your almost unibrow, your sneaky dimple when you smile, the perfect curvature of your chin, your golden cascading locks of curl (when they aren't in pigtails)...
I LOVE THIS LITTLE FACE!!

6.  I love that you think you're such a big girl, but you're still my precious little baby who thinks a return address label is a bandaid.  Thank you for making me feel better ;)

7.  I love that you discovered a microphone and that it gives you power!!  You LOVE to sing and you just belt it out at the top of your lungs, off key and fabulous.  Your favorite choice of songs is currently "you can't get me.." whatever that song is.  Hilarious!  You're really good at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star though.

8.  I love that everywhere you go, everyone is your "friend."  The girl in the background was a stranger at Tanner's football game, but you immediately wanted to play with "friend" and hold her hand and give her hugs!  You are so sweet and so kind (when you want to be ;)  You made an instant friend at the park the other night when a teenager helped you down the slide, and when she left you got a sad face and asked "where'd friend go!?

The list will never end...I love EVERYTHING about you Kambrie.  But what #1 really should have said is that I LOVE when you say "I Lov Lu mommy."  I LOVE to hear you tell me you love me but I love you even more!!!!
