Christmas 2011

I guess I better post about Christmas 2011
before Christmas 2012 comes! Christmas Eve wasn't very pleasurable for mommy. I had an awful flu bug and was exiled to my room in misery while I listened to daddy dance with the kids to Christmas music all day! It was so cute, and I felt so sad missing the festivities. By evening I was able to rise from my bed and at least veg on the couch and have visibility of my family. ☺
Before bed we had a family campout downstairs and watched "The Christmas Carol" with lots of popcorn to share. Blankets lined the floor and we they all layed cozy together, enjoying our new tradition. We got Santa's goody plate ready and Tanner wrote a sweet note, and we let the kids each open a gift.
Apparently the kids were on the GOOD list because Santa came through the night, dumping eating cookies set out, lining up gifts along the couch, and doing some last minute wrapping, then placed a few more items under the tree!
Not sure if Kam understood yet what Christmas morning was about, but Tanner always wakes up eager, anxious and excited to see what joy Santa could possibly bring!
We had the kids line the stairs until the reveal was ready! Ready to break through like a herd of cows...they ran down to see what gifts were awaiting!
"Hmmmm. I guess this baby station is for me" Kambrie must have thought. "Not sure why it's here...but I'll play with it!"
Gumballs to last forever a few days!
Star wars blanket wrap, lego's, Kinect Xbox games, pirate figurines, coveted pirate ship...
Kambrie is finally getting into playing with babies and girl stuff so it was fun to get her all things "girly!"
Kams new accessories at good use on daddy!
All ready for church and pimped out. ☺
The classic Christmas outfits in front of the Christmas tree!
gosh dang they're so cute
(barely making it through our 2 minute shoot...Tanner pouting and sick of "all" the pictures ;)
It was really nice to actually attend church ON Christmas. The Sacrament program was short, sweet and poignant.
When we came home, dad took Tanner into work with him for a 4 hr shift and the girls took a nap.
Reconvening at home, visitors arrived as well!!
The goofy Griswolds aka Gpa Kirk and Gma Susan!
What a fun surprise!!
They drove from Tulsa to spend the evening and next day with us. We LOVED having them visit. And we LOVED that they brought a delicious dinner with them and a thank-you hostess gift.
Um. Please come again soon!!
(wink wink)
Dinner was fabulous (Susan is an amazing cook) and the evening was fun reading, talking and hanging out together. The kids love whenever we have visitors, especially if it's one of their special grandparents.
After we said our good-byes and come again soon we played Kam's favorite
"horshey!"
They actually BOTH love to ride the horse...
he's an old horse, but he's got spunk!
Then more craziness ensued with giggles and laughs, body parts being flung here and there...and it's usually Kam who instigates it all.
NO FEAR.
Fun times.
Great moments!
Fabulous memories.
