where oh where could he be

My son has gone missing and been replaced by
Captain Jack
daily
these past 2 weeks.
I really miss my Tanman, but I'm growing quite accustomed to Jack!
He's pretty darn cute and a super fun substitute!!
I especially love the cowboy mix with it. Dad had fun teaching Jack to play our new Wii.
(yes, we finally got one!)
Jack's quite the fashionista too...
one day using his blanket cape,
the next his life jacket vest,
but overall he prefers the cowboy combo!
Then we decided to take Jack with us to our Pioneer Day celebration on the 24th.
He made a cute log cabin, ate yummy breakfast and played with some local friends.
Everyone has been very accepting of him!!
who are these two hoodlums!!??
Jack's not as sneaky as I thought though!!!
But I'll take him!
He's
too dang
ADORABLE.
I just wonder when my Tanman will ever return?

Oquirrh temple

I love to see the temple, I'm going there someday. To feel the Holy Spirit, to listen and to pray. For the temple is a house of God, a place of love and beauty. I'll prepare myself while I am young. This is my sacred duty.
I love to see the temple. I'll go inside someday. I'll covenant with my Father. I'll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place where we are sealed together. As a child of God I've learned this truth.
A family is forever!
This is a song we teach the young children in our church. The temple is where every important thing done on earth, is bound in heaven. We make sacred covenants there and only by attending the temple and marrying in this sacred house can we return to live with our Father in Heaven. Through the sacred blessings of the temple, we can be made a family
FOREVER!
Not just until death do you part, but eternity!!
I'm so grateful for this knowledge.
It's such a comfort in my life.
I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to take Tanner through the Oquirrh Temple open house before it has been dedicated, and teach him more about our holy temples.

a river of

Emotions:
How many emotions do you think you have felt in one solitary day?
Sometimes it's a TON!
Today was all over the place for me.
As I sit here evaluating, I felt:
Excitement.
Exhaustion.
Sadness.
Regret.
Depressed.
Happiness.
Thankfulness.
Frustration.
Anger.
Forgiveness.
Love.
Jealousy.
Contentment.
Confusion.
Gratitude.
It hasn't been a bad day, but neither was it good. It was a somewhat uneventful day, but unexpectedly overwhelmingly full of emotion.
Funny how some days can be.

At the end of it all I feel JOY though...because of him!

(and my precious hubs)

I'm grateful for the positives in my life!!

the bag lady

I've said it before:
I'm the bag lady!
in a good way
I have a sewing machine and desperately need to learn how to use it.
While in Utah I had my mom help me with some projects!
I got my sister hooked too!
One morning we woke up and had a specific project in mind.
We were serious...no showers, straight to work!
We had a BLAST and came out with some cute little purses and totes.
I LOVE the tie totes and they are great for strollers, bikes, anything you want to attach easily by just a quick tie at the top!!
We were SO PROUD of our efforts.
I can't even sew on a button, so to create these bags was somewhat exciting.
UNTIL...
our friend came over and totally showed us up with her purse she had just made...
so the next day we made her come over and show us how to make her style.
Barb was awesome to come and be our "pattern!"
We stayed up late laughing, cutting, sewing, fixing mistakes, getting frustrated, having fun and coming out with an adorably satisfying product.
getting closer...
almost there...
DONE!
voila
I totally love my bag/purse...whatever I decide to use it for!
I am SO IMPRESSED with myself I must say. For being an amateur, it turned out pretty dang good.
I have PASSION for this stuff and can't wait to keep creating and trying more things!!
This is my next bag I'll be making...
My sister Kim's bag. LOVE the colors.
To die for.
